Cutter - Slang 7" +2 (2008)

Cutter was a short-lived NYC band that would go on to become Pygmy Shrews. You know... that band I'm constantly raving about on this blog? The one that I just now found out have recently broken up which totally sucks!! Cutter are much like Pygmy Shrews only more fucked up and chaotic. It's kind of hard for me to explain so just give it a listen to and you'll seen what I mean.

Inappropriate Tough Guy Behavior - S/T (2009)

Inappropriate Tough Guy Behavior is a side project of Melbourne's Fire Witch (see below). Similar to Fire Witch but more upbeat, straightforward rock songs with vocals on some of the tracks. If you haven't already noticed I'm a bit obsessed with the "Fire Witch Family Tree" at the moment. I've already written about Goat Witch and the band Fangs Of A TV Evangelist also belong to that same family tree. All of it is great. This record had a pressing of only 200 copies.

Last Of The Juanitas - Time's Up (2002)

Last Of The Juanitas is a band I've just gotten into recently (Thanks, Shiny Grey Monotone...) that I've been a little obsessed with.  This album is mostly instrumental but the few tracks that do have vocals has more of a upbeat punk-rock kind of feel to it.  More so than the other albums of theirs that I've heard so far which has a little slower sludgier pace to it.  Members went on to form Red Fang.

Crain - Heater (1994)

Louisville's Crain were active when the small southern town was going through sort of a musical renaissance.  There was so much good music coming out of Louisville in the early 90's and Crain sometimes get overlooked in that scene.  They kind of remind me of a more raw Guzzard and would maybe fit in well with most of the Discord Records roster.  Crain's other album Speed was reissued a few years ago by Temporary Residence Records but Heater was not for some reason.  I think it's every bit as good as Speed if not better.

Coachwhips are a garage rock band out of San Fransisco.  Really stripped down and raw with distorted vocals.  Featuring members of Pink And Brown.  For fans of Doo Rag and Thee Headcoats.
